The winners of NALED Arrow award

Within NALED's Annual Assembly, organized on Thursday, 18 April 2019, the key partners in the implementation of reforms were awarded the NALED Arrow for their contribution to economic development of Serbia. 

This year's award winners are H.E. Arne Bjornstad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Li Sung Gi, General Manager of Korean Agency for Trade and Investment Promotion KOTRA and Laura Pavlović, Director of USAID's Office for Democratic and Economic Growth. 

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Arne Bjornstad helped Serbia in improving the rule of law and legal certainty, and establish fair competition through capacity building and coordination of inspections, courts and state institutions. He also provided support to activities for preserving the cultural heritage of Serbia and fostering employment of women in rural areas on creating traditional handicrafts through the initiative „1,000 women“ and invested personal efforts to draw public attention and support vulnerable groups in their economic empowerment.

The second winner of NALED Arrow, Li Sung Gi, General Manager of Korean Agency for Trade and Investment Promotion KOTRA supported NALED and the Government of Serbia in strengthening capacities and exchange of knowledge in the field of e-government, promotion of cloud-based services and smart city development. Thanks to his personal and his team's commitment, Serbian companies had a chance to network with the global leaders in modern technologies, while our country was given an opportunity to embrace high-end solutions from the Far East.

Laura Pavlović, Director of USAID's Office for Democratic and Economic Growth has been working in Serbia since 2015 on encouraging democracy and economic development. Together with NALED, with the support of USAID she provided essential contribution in implementing some of the key reforms for a better business environment, such as the construction permitting and inspections reform. Within the Public Private Dialogue Project, together with NALED she is directly supporting the capacity building of local civil society organizations across Serbia for policy advocacy.
