Vladimir Novaković appointed as the new President of NALED MB

The General Manager of Apatinska Brewery Vladimir Novaković was appointed the new President of NALED Managing Board, based on the decision of the organization’s managing body members. He stepped to the function succeeding Aleksandar Ružević, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia and Montenegro, who continues his career as the leader of Coca-Cola HBC Russia in Moscow.

Vladimir Novaković has been the General Manager of Apatinska Brewery/Molson Coors Brewing Company since October 2016. Until recently, he was the President of Serbian Brewers Association, while also serving as the member of NALED Managing Board. Along with Apatinska Brewery, in his professional career Novaković has worked in companies Fresh&Co, Henkel and Carnex, as Sales Director or General Manager.

- Within its strategic planning process for the 2018-2021 period, NALED defined the six key goals whose realization will be supervised by the Managing Board. Our priorities include the reduction of shadow economy and modernization of the tax system, advancement of e-government and e-business, Cadaster reform and improved process of planning and construction, improved conditions for the development of agriculture and food industry, development of healthcare sector, and strengthening of international competitiveness and regional cooperation. With more than 300 members, NALED is the largest public-private association in Serbia and we strive to remain the leaders in promoting such dialogue – said Novaković.

According to him, as a member of working groups for drafting regulations, over the past year only, NALED has contributed to significant improvement of business regulations and environment. The institutions adopted the Law on Simplified Work Engagement of Seasonal Workers, thus providing a major incentive towards countering unregistered employment, as well as the laws on electronic operations and e-government as the foundations for the development of electronic services. Services that were launched in July include the eCounter (modern one-stop-shop system for registering ownership over real estate property), electronic registration of property tax and tax on the transfer of absolute rights, as well as the automated procedure for exercising the right to maternity leave fee. The tax exemption for start-ups will start in October, while stamps have been finally eliminated from practical use.

Novaković thanked the previous President Aleksandar Ružević and all NALED members, as well as the international partners including USAID, GIZ, Open Society Foundations, World Bank, EBRD, embassies of Greta Britain, Netherlands and Norway, and many others, for the support and contribution to reforms for improving the business environment in Serbia.

Ružević: I see NALED as a successful model of public-private dialogue in Europe

- In the future, I see NALED as an indispensable partner to the state, businesses and citizens on our reform path, but even much more, as a successful and recognized model of public-private dialogue in the region and Europe. I am extremely proud of the results we achieved together and I thank all members for the support they provide to NALED and its activities. I would like to invite all companies who wish to be a part in the positive change and the development of a business friendly environment in Serbia, to join and take part in this fantastic organization – said the outgoing President of MB Aleksandar Ružević.
