Workshop of the Coordination Council for E-Government held

The first two-day workshop of the Coordination Council for E-Government focusing on the development of E-Government Development Program 2019-2021, a public policy document aiming to provide strategic guidance in this field for the following three years, was organized from 18 to 20 November in Novi Sad.

The workshop was attended by 54 participants from more than 30 organizations - members of the Coordination Council, who were tasked with defining the Program's specific goals. One of the workshop conclusions is that e-government does not stand as a final goal, but rather a means for establishing a modern and efficient public administration.

The Coordination Council for E-Goverment is a body established by the Government of Serbia, with the aim of aligning the activities for drafting and implementing the strategic documents in the field of e-government. The E-Government Development Program will be the first public policy document to be entirely developed in line with the Law on the Planning System. The program will set new standards and fulfill all legal pre-requisites for creating public policy documents, while its realization will be monitored through a Comprehensive information system for public policies designed by the National Public Policy Secretariat. The consultation process will accompany all phases of the Program development, to ensure that all interested parties are included in the process.
