Healthcare development

Recognizing the importance of establishing an efficient health care system at the local and national level, NALED membership identified this topic as one of its priorities, and in 2018 a thematic Healthcare Alliance was established.

At the initiative of NALED, in January 2021, the Government of Serbia formed the Coordination Body for the Digitization of the Health System, which is working on the development of the National Program for the Development of eHealth. The working group is chaired by Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Deputy Prime Minister Zlatibor Lončar, NALED provides expert support with the Prime Minister's Office and the Office for IT and eGovernment.

KEY INITIATIVES

Within the Second Health Development Project of Serbia, implemented by the Ministry of Health with the support of the World Bank, a plan for optimizing the network of health institutions was developed, and NALED, as part of an international consortium, provided support in preparing the plan.

In 2020, the first Grey Book of Healthcare was published with 50 recommendations in 3 areas: health services, financing and health care capacities and availability of medicines. Priority recommendations relate to the digitalization of services for citizens and the economy, faster listing of drugs and the integration of private and public health systems.
