Bosnia and Herzegovina: Support for Strengthening the Capacity of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs

Donor:
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) project, funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)
Beneficiary:
Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs (FUZIP)
Implementation Period:
December 9, 2024 – June 9, 2026

Given the challenging macroeconomic and business environment, the limited internal capacities of FUZIP, and the lack of funds in the federal budget, donor and expert support is seen as crucial in enabling the competent authorities to act in accordance with the strategic documents adopted by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. NALED, as one of the leading organizations in regulatory reform, as well as in measuring and improving public administration performance, with extensive experience in providing expert support for inspection oversight in Serbia and the region, has been given the opportunity to implement this project.

Key Activities:

  • Development and implementation of a capacity-building program for inspection services.
  • Analysis of court practices in FBiH regarding the handling of inspection cases, with recommendations for improvement; analysis of existing communication mechanisms between FUZIP and cantonal inspections, with proposals for enhancement.
  • Development, integration, and operationalization of a chatbot.
  • Organization of workshops with business representatives to present new improved solutions and understand the needs of the private sector.
