NALED “Arrow” awarded

As part of NALED’s election Assembly, on Wednesday, 26 April 2017, NALED's "Arrow" was presented to MP Arpad Fremond and the Ambassador of Australia Julia Feeney, who made major contribution to NALED's mission on improving the business environment in Serbia and the region.

Upon invitation by the Chairman of the Economic Caucus prof. PhD Vladimir Marinković, Arpad Fremond, a Member of Parliament and member of the Committee on Agriculture, has been cooperating with NALED since 2016. The partnership led to joint organization of study visits to Croatia and Hungary for representatives of line ministries, to exchange best practice examples in introducing vouchers for seasonal workers and to strengthen the capacities of Agrarian Payments Directorate. Arpad Fremond also immensely contributed to the strengthening of NALED's partnership with cities and municipalities in northern Vojvodina. He relentlessly listens to the needs of citizens and acts in their best interests, thereby strengthening confidence in the state and restoring the reputation of the National Parliament and the institute of Member of Parliament.

Shortly after assuming her diplomatic role in early 2014, Australia's ambassador to Serbia Julia Feeney got acquainted with NALED and Ethno Network, becoming a patron of initiatives aiming to promote traditional heritage and economic empowerment of women and youth in Serbia. Numerous exhibitions of handicrafts were organized at the Ambassador’s residence, and a partnership agreement was signed between Pirot and Sombor on the preservation of weaving tradition. Thanks to her dedication, the Stapar rug was included on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, along with the Pirot rug, and is now used as diplomatic and protocol gift by the national and provincial governments and the National Parliament. NALED Arrow has been awarded to Ms. Feeney as a sign of deep appreciation for her unbridled enthusiasm and contribution to preserving Serbia's cultural heritage and raising awareness of its value.
