Council for Digital Economy Development 

The Government of the Republic of Serbia formed the Council for Digital Economy Development, Innovation, High-Tech Entrepreneurship, and Digitization of Business Operations of Economic Entities at the initiative of the Public Policy Innovation Lab.

The council was established in April 2021 with the primary role of discussing issues and making proposals to systematically increase the volume of exports in the digital economy, increase the GDP, raise the number of professional staff, improve the business infrastructure, enhance the implementation of high technologies, and increase overall employment through the development of innovative entrepreneurship.

The first session of the Council was held on September 20, 2021, at the premises of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Council, Ana Brnabić, the Vice President of the Council and the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matić and 24 members.

Members of the Lab provided professional assistance in organizing the Council that focuses on 35 projects in the field of digital economy that will be implemented in the period from 2020 to 2024, with 177.6 million euros in total funding for their implementation.

In the coming period, regular sessions are planned, during which the Council will be working on improving Serbia's position on indexes related to the development of the digital economy, innovation, high-tech entrepreneurship and digitization in the business operations of economic entities.
