£50,000 Fund For Women's Entrepreneurship In Serbia: Grant applications by September 14
Female entrepreneurs and small business owners in Serbia now have the opportunity to apply for grants of £10,000 each, through the "Strong and Important" project implemented by NALED with the support of the British Embassy in Belgrade. Applications are open until midnight on September 14, and the total fund amounts to £50,000.
- The funds we provide send another message to women entrepreneurs that we stand by them. Through this program, we empower them to expand and digitize their businesses. We believe that the women supported through this grant will continue to make positive changes in their communities - said NALED Executive Director Violeta Jovanović.
Entrepreneurs and companies established between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2022, whose founders and legal representatives are women holding at least 51% ownership, are eligible to apply. To qualify for the grant, companies must have positive business operations in 2023 and 2024, be compliant taxpayers, have no blocked accounts or business restrictions, and their founders and representatives must not have any criminal convictions or ongoing criminal proceedings.
Grants are intended for activities that bring tangible improvements – from purchasing equipment and introducing new products and services, to digitalization and certifications, as well as marketing initiatives that improve market presence. Each participant must provide at least 10% of the total project value from their own resources, promoting responsibility and sustainability of business ideas.
Applications are evaluated in multiple stages. First, the basic eligibility criteria are checked, followed by assessment of project proposals by an expert committee. The top twenty proposals advance to the shortlist and have the opportunity to present their project before the Grant Committee, with funds ultimately awarded to the five best proposals.
In addition to financial support, participants will have the opportunity to connect through workshops, training, and mentorship, making the "Strong and Important" program a comprehensive instrument for empowering women in business.
