Information Security Training Held at the Stari Grad Pensioners’ Association

An educational training session dedicated to information security was held on December 23 at the premises of the Stari Grad Pensioners’ Association in Belgrade. The aim of the training was to familiarize association members with the basic principles of personal data protection, safe use of the internet and digital services, as well as the recognition of the most common threats in the online environment.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to receive practical advice on the safe use of email and social media, as well as on ways to protect themselves from smishing and online fraud. Special emphasis was placed on raising awareness of the importance of safe use of new technologies among the elderly population.

Participants were provided with educational materials containing practical guidelines and examples, enabling them to review key advice after the training and apply it in their everyday use of the internet. In this way, lasting support was ensured for pensioners to independently and safely use digital tools.

The training was delivered by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), in its capacity as the National CERT of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED). This highlighted that information security is not only a technical issue, but also an important part of the digital transformation of society, in which all citizens should have an active and secure role.
