Improving cooperation with the Provincial Government

NALED Executive Director, Violeta Jovanović, and the President of Executive Board, Dejan Đokić, met today with the President of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirović, to discuss the work done so far and the improvement of cooperation in the upcoming period.

The meeting presented the most significant results in the field of improving the work of local governments in Vojvodina and creating a favorable environment for business and investment, which are defined by the Agreement on Cooperation between the Provincial Government and NALED signed in 2016.

The partners agreed that in the past four years, significant steps have been taken towards capacity building of local governments, simplifying procedures, modernizing the administration, supporting businesses, and women's entrepreneurship.

A highlighted example of successful cooperation was the Stapar carpet, which has become recognizable nowadays, so it would be useful to further encourage the development of specific products which can turn into brands.

Violeta Jovanović stated that the lines of cooperation between NALED and the Provincial Government in the coming period could be the projects for reducing shadow economy through registration of seasonal workers in areas such as construction and tourism, as well as digital registration of agricultural households. She expressed the expectation that the municipalities of Vojvodina will be the first in Serbia to implement these reforms.

The meeting in the Provincial Government was also attended by the Provincial Secretary for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Government, Aleksandar Sofić.
