NALED, businesses and GIZ together for the most vulnerable

NALED traditionally dedicated the last days of the year to assist those who need it the most. Together with socially responsible member companies, the "Holidays for All" campaign was launched, to help homeless children, shelter residents and the elderly n need. For those who take care of them, support comes in cooperation with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).

As the winter holidays are apporaching, Coca-Cola, Medigroup, CETIN, Novo Nordisk, the Baby Food Factory, Marbo, Lidl, Inpharm and Stefkom, united through the NALED platform, donated valuable products and funds, and the gift caravan made its first stop at the Belgrade Children’s Shelter.

- We surprised children from the Shelter with holiday gifts containing toys and food. In the light of the current health situation, masks, gloves and disinfectants were donated to the Shelter, and we provided supplements and health examinations by general practitioners and pediatric ENT specialists. With the idea of ​​facilitating the work of this organization that takes care of homeless children, we also donated equipment that they lacked - small household appliances, hair dryers, kettles and printers. We invite other responsible businesses to redirect the funds they planned for representation and celebration of the New Year to vulnerable groups and thus help make holidays for all - says NALED Executive Director, Violeta Jovanović.

The "Holidays for All" campaign also includes donations for the Safe House shelter in Belgrade in the form of packages for the residents’ children, milk, diapers, heaters, hair dryers, masks, gloves and protective equipment, as well as training for professional training of the Safe House residents in Niš. In addition to protective equipment, the shelter for the elderly and adults in Belgrade were also given ten screens for placing between the beds.

A total of 50,000 euros was collected in this solidarity campaign, and support also came from the international community. As a symbol of Serbian-Israeli friendship, the Embassy of Israel, in cooperation with NALED, donated a respirator to the Zaječar Primary Healthcare Center.

Together with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), support will be provided this week for social protection service providers in 14 local governments within the "Social protection services for vulnerable groups" project. The project is being implemented in Kosjerić, Loznica, Krupanj, Arilje, Lajkovac, Mionica, Plandište, Užice, Sjenica, Prijepolje, Šid, Ruma, Sremska Mitrovica and Pećinci.

GIZ, in cooperation with NALED, provided the municipalities with more than 7,000 protective masks and 7,000 pairs of gloves, and 39 nurses were equipped with sugar and pressure measuring devices, bags and clogs. A significant donation in technical equipment was provided for the social protection service providers - mobile phones, laptops, projectors and multifunction printers, as well as furniture. Protective patches were provided for two children with bullous epidermolysis (so-called butterfly children).
