Continuation of trainings for the use of new electronic invoicing system for public sector
A new round of trainings for the use of electronic invoicing systems, organized by NALED in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the financial assistance of the British Embassy through the Grow Small project, will continue in September. The trainings, which will be held once a week, are initially focused on public sector entities, while additional trainings for private sector entities will begin in October.
"The impact of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus on the national and global economy is undoubtedly negative, and the biggest victims are micro, small and medium enterprises." Those companies that were able to utilize the benefits of e-business, both in Serbia and in the United Kingdom, managed to cope with the crisis caused by the pandemic, while with most it was not usually the case. That is why through the "Grow Small" project we want to help entrepreneurs improve electronic services, especially trade. Through the planned set of trainings, businesses will have the opportunity to understand and use electronic invoicing in everyday business, which will bring them savings in time and money in the future. In addition, we have the idea to launch a virtual entrepreneurial portal which will provide practical and professional support to businesses, said Christopher Leigh, Second Secretary for Economy, Trade and Environment in the British Embassy.
The introductory remarks were followed by a presentation of the legal framework of the Law on Electronic Invoicing, adopted in April 2021. For the public sector, as well as the private sector that issues invoices to the public sector, the law will be mandatory from January 1 next year.
The lecturers at this training were Biljana Branković, Head of the Finance Department in the urban Municipality of Surčin, and Jelena Mićić, lawyer and advisor for regulatory issues in the Support Unit to the Coordination Commission for Inspection Oversight, who successfully attended the training for trainers earlier this year.
The training provided participants with a practical insight into the normative framework, the content of the platform and the way the new system works. Specific features important for the public sector were also emphasized, such as the Invoice management system, which can be used to to make approvals for invoices for users of budget funds, on a voluntary basis.
At the end of the training, an evaluation questionnaire was prepared, the purpose of which is to assess the content of the training, lecturers, but also a place for further questions and resolving doubts regarding the system and normative framework.
