During December and January, agricultural producers and seasonal workers in 17 local governments throughout Serbia had the opportunity to get acquainted with the simplified procedure of engaging in seasonal jobs in agriculture through the portal sezonenskiradnici.gov.rs and mobile application, because their city was visited by Agro Info Caravan, organized by NALED with the support of German Development Cooperation.
During the nine days, all interested representatives of local authorities and representatives of producers and seasonal workers were presented with the procedure, the advantages of electronic application and they received promotional material.
After the successful implementation of the reform, which introduced electronic registration of seasonal workers, promotion in the field is key to understanding the benefits of legal engagement, both for employers and workers. The organizers of the Agro Info Caravan, thanks to which the reform of hiring seasonal workers in agriculture was additionally promoted locally, confirmed the need for the right information of all interested parties - employees in local governments, branches of National Employment Services and Centers for Social Work, and indirectly, agricultural producers and seasonal workers.
- Large agricultural producers who need more seasonal workers regularly use the simplified electronic procedure for registration and deregistration of workers and are satisfied with the implemented reform, while smaller agricultural producers usually perform their production with the help of family, neighbors, organized mobs and do not report that help. The goal of the promotion at the local level is to inform the interested parties about the benefits of this reform and to understand why it is important to report workers, regardless of whether it is a small or a big job, a worker or a friend - they say in NALED.
Agro Info Caravan visited Zrenjanin, Nis, Cacak, Kraljevo, Subotica, Backa Topola, Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Svilajnac, Jagodina, Zajecar, Negotin, Vrbas, Odzake, Sombor, Zabalj and Grocka.
Given the good results so far and the effects of introducing an electronic registration system for seasonal workers in the field of agriculture, the plan is to expand the system to other activities where there is often a need for occasional and short-term engagements, primarily in tourism and catering, construction and home help, announced from NALED.
