Fake messages impersonating banks and government institutions, WhatsApp scams and the misuse of artificial intelligence will be the focus of an information security workshop organized by the National CERT of the Republic of Serbia, operating within RATEL, and NALED.
Messages that appear to come from a bank, government institution or public utility company, suspicious links and increasingly convincing scams created with the help of artificial intelligence pose a growing challenge for citizens and businesses. Journalists will have the opportunity to learn how to identify these threats and protect against them at a workshop organized by the National CERT of the Republic of Serbia, which operates within the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), with the support of NALED, on Monday, 19 October, from 10 to 11 a.m., at NALED Lab, Makedonska 30, Belgrade.
National CERT experts will present the latest data on information security in Serbia for 2025 and 2026, as well as practical examples of digital scams most commonly encountered by citizens and companies.
Participants will learn how to recognize phishing messages and fake links, how the names of public utility companies and government institutions are misused, which WhatsApp scams are most common, and how artificial intelligence is used to deceive users.
In addition to presenting data and current trends, the workshop will give journalists an opportunity to discuss digital threats and protection measures with National CERT experts, as well as ask questions relevant to their daily work and efforts to keep the public informed.
Places are limited, and interested journalists can register by 16 October via this link.
