NALED Becomes EIT Food Country Representative for Serbia

Innovators, startups, entrepreneurs, and students in Serbia will now have stronger support for developing ideas in the field of food and agriculture, thanks to NALED's new role as EIT Food Country Representative.

As a local contact point within the EIT Community Hub, NALED will connect stakeholders from the food and agriculture sector — from companies and universities to startups and young talent — with EIT Food initiatives, the leading European network for innovation in the food chain.

In practice, this means more opportunities to participate in international programs, easier access to funding, and concrete support in the development and commercialization of innovative solutions. A special focus will be placed on recognizing the potential of local ideas and directing them toward EIT Food programs covering innovation, education, and entrepreneurship.

During the project, which runs until the end of 2028, workshops, training sessions, and events will be organized to strengthen the sector's capacity and connect domestic stakeholders with European partners. The goal is to further empower the agri-food ecosystem in Serbia and increase the presence of our organizations in international projects.

Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the Serbian economy and a significant export potential, while at the same time being an area with room for improvement through the application of modern technologies and innovations.

The role of the EIT Food Country Representative is precisely to bring that potential closer to European streams and help domestic stakeholders make better use of it. NALED already has years of experience collaborating with EIT Food, as well as in connecting the public and private sectors, making this new role a natural continuation of its existing activities.

For more information about the program and opportunities to get involved, the contact person is the Head of the Food and Agriculture Unit at NALED, Todo Terzić (t.terzic@naled.rs). More about the project itself, its goals, and expected results is available here.
