The City of Kragujevac is the first local self-government unit to adopt a Program for Social Entrepreneurship and the Social Economy. NALED will provide technical and mentoring support for the implementation of activities within the program. On this occasion, a meeting was held with representatives of NALED at City Hall, attended by Jelena Pavić, Member of the City Council in charge of Health and Social Protection.
“At its final session last year, the City Assembly of Kragujevac adopted the Program for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship for the period 2026–2028, and in the coming period we will focus on this topic. Around RSD 10 million will be allocated from the city budget for the development of social entrepreneurship over a three-year period,” said Pavić, adding that today’s meeting with NALED representatives addressed support measures and preliminary steps.
Irena Đorđević Šušić, Head of NALED’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, emphasized that the support will focus on organizing various training programs, promoting social enterprises, product placement, and facilitating access to markets.
“We selected Kragujevac as the first local self-government in Serbia to make this strategic step and decide to support social enterprises in the city. I hope that in the coming period we will work together on mapping the entire ecosystem, identifying all social enterprises and their needs, so that this support program, in financial terms, truly corresponds to their needs,” said Đorđević Šušić.
The support is being implemented within the project ‘More Efficient Public Procurement and Sustainable Supply Chains (ESG) for Enhancing Competitiveness’, which NALED is carrying out with the support of Sweden.
