A platform that connects micro-investors with sustainable agricultural projects, a pest control system combining traps and biopesticides, as well as a solution for composting and the application of special compost tea – all received awards at the first challenge for innovative solutions in the field of regenerative agriculture in Serbia. The first place was won by the RegeLand team with their idea of an innovative platform, second place went to the Coalition for Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, whose idea focuses on pest control, and third place was awarded to the Green Treasure team, which focused on a composting solution.
The first Challenge Lab Re:Generator was organized within the EIT Food Hub in cooperation with Regenu project, and it brought together teams of students, researchers, startups, and entrepreneurs in one place. The EIT Food Hub in Serbia is led by NALED in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad.
The competition focused on finding solutions for optimal land use and the efficient use of natural, human, and financial resources, as well as the effective functioning of ecosystems. During the one-month competition, participants received mentoring support from experts – explains Todo Terzić, the regulatory reform manager at NALED, adding that the overall goal of the program is to support the innovation ecosystem in Serbian agriculture and to connect industry and science.
