Government support to businesses: Are rules for awarding state aid in line with the EU practices

Disruptions in the supply, reduced demand for goods and services, and less investments, as dirct effects of the Coronavirus pandemics, have forces states to intervene and preserve the fragile market players, and jobs. Observing individual sectors, the crisis has less influenced the sphere of digital business, while serious consequences are seen in transport, hospitality and tourism. The support measures package introduced by the Government of Serbia worth 5.1 billion EUR has brought about the issue of whether the rules for awarding state aid are aligned with the EU practices, bearing in mind Serbia;s EU accession negotiations.
