Exploring Serbia’s modern digital infrastructure, the potential applications of artificial intelligence and the support available to companies and start-ups were the main focus of a study visit to the State Data Centre in Kragujevac, organised on 22 October as part of the Capital Innovation Point Serbia (CIPS) project.
During the event, “Behind the Cloud: Inside Serbia’s Data & AI Infrastructure”, participants were introduced to CIPS services, the infrastructure capacities of the State Data Centre and the national AI platform, as well as an overview of the Republic of Serbia’s future development initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence. The programme also included a tour of the Data Centre and an exchange of experiences with representatives of the business community, public sector and innovation ecosystem.
Tamara Bresjanac, Digitalisation Advisor at NALED, presented the services provided by NALED within the CIPS project, including practical training in business skills development, the exchange of experiences and good practices in digital transformation, and opportunities for networking at both national and international levels.
A special part of the programme focused on Kragujevac’s innovation ecosystem, featuring presentations of the activities of the Kragujevac Science and Technology Park and the Kragujevac Business Innovation Centre, as well as support programmes for local start-ups and businesses.
The visit provided an opportunity for participants to connect and learn more about the free CIPS services that contribute to strengthening digital capacities and promoting the adoption of new technologies.
The Capital Innovation Point Serbia (CIPS) project is implemented in cooperation with the Belgrade Science and Technology Park as the project coordinator, together with partners NALED, the Novi Sad Science and Technology Park, the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, and Data Cloud Technology, as well as associate partners the Institute of Physics and the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade. The project is part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network and is co-funded by the European Union.
