eGovernment Day was held today in the Municipality of Bela Palanka as part of the project “eGovernment for All,” with the aim of bringing the opportunities and benefits of electronic services closer to citizens.
“Key electronic services such as eID, eInbox, eRegistry Office, and eKindergarten have already been introduced in Bela Palanka, and employees have completed training for the ePay system and preparations for the introduction of the cloud-based eSeal. Our goal is to ensure that citizens can complete administrative procedures quickly, easily, and transparently in their own communities, without paperwork or unnecessary visits to service counters. We are working intensively on expanding the use of eInbox, increasing the number of eCitizens, and improving the infrastructure for service delivery. In this way, we are bringing modern public administration closer to the citizens of Bela Palanka, saving time, reducing costs, and improving quality of life,” said Biljana Marić, Assistant Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment.
Since the beginning of the project implementation, a series of activities have been carried out in cooperation with the Municipality of Bela Palanka, aimed at strengthening digital capacities, modernizing public administration operations, and enhancing employees’ knowledge and skills.
Marić emphasized that the “eGovernment for All” project seeks to encourage broader use of electronic services, as well as to support local self-governments, such as Bela Palanka, in continuing their dedicated digital transformation efforts.
“Today, we successfully held eGovernment Day in Bela Palanka as part of the eGovernment for All project, demonstrating that our municipality is keeping pace with modern digitalization trends. A large number of our fellow citizens took the opportunity to learn about the services available through the eGovernment Portal and, with professional support, to open their eID accounts and begin using electronic services. Bela Palanka is one of the first municipalities in Serbia to establish a One-Stop Administrative Office, enabling citizens to complete their administrative procedures more quickly and efficiently in one place. I am especially pleased that citizens have recognized the importance of digital services that save time, simplify procedures, and enable faster and more efficient communication with the administration. Our local government remains committed to improving services and building a modern, accessible, and transparent administration tailored to all citizens. I would like to thank the representatives of the Office for IT and eGovernment, as well as all partners involved in the eGovernment for All project, for their support and successful cooperation. We will continue working on the digital transformation of Bela Palanka, as this is an investment in a more efficient administration and a better quality of life for our citizens,” emphasized Goran Miljković, President of the Municipality of Bela Palanka.
eGovernment Day represents a unique opportunity for local self-governments to improve their services, optimize processes, and become recognized leaders of digital transformation for the benefit of citizens and businesses. Within this project, ten local self-governments have been selected to work, in cooperation with expert teams from the Office and its partners, on enhancing electronic services for all citizens.
eGovernment Day was jointly launched by the Office for IT and eGovernment, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NALED, and the World Bank, with the aim of making eGovernment accessible to everyone, regardless of the size and capacity of the local self-government.
