eGovernment Day Held in Veliko Gradište

eGovernment Day was held today in the Municipality of Veliko Gradište as part of the “eGovernment for All” project, with the aim of bringing citizens closer to the opportunities and benefits of using electronic services.

Assistant Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Biljana Marić, Executive Director of NALED Violeta Jovanović, Digital Technologies Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Slobodan Marković, and the President of the Municipality of Veliko Gradište, Dragan Milić, visited the promotional stand and spoke with citizens.

In cooperation with the Municipality of Veliko Gradište, digital services have been further enhanced, and the municipality already stands out for its active implementation of electronic services.

Assistant Director Biljana Marić emphasized that the Municipality of Veliko Gradište makes extensive use of electronic services such as ePisarnica (eRegistry Office), eInbox, and eZUP, which in practice means faster and simpler administrative procedures with less paperwork.

“To date, more than 30,000 data exchanges have been carried out through eZUP, confirming that this system has become part of the municipality’s everyday operations. In the coming period, we will continue to work together on further promoting the eKindergarten service, as well as increasing the number of eCitizens, so that more citizens can complete administrative procedures electronically, quickly, and easily. In this way, we are bringing eGovernment closer to the people of Veliko Gradište, saving time and simplifying daily tasks,” Marić stated.

“For NALED, the digital transformation of local governments is one of the top priorities. Our focus is on strengthening the capacities of civil servants, improving digital infrastructure, and increasing the availability of electronic services to citizens. Our member, Veliko Gradište, is a municipality already recognized for its serious approach to digitalization. It is particularly commendable that it enables cashless payments for its citizens, demonstrating a clear commitment to modernizing services and improving quality of life in the local community,” said Jovanović.

“For UNDP, digital transformation is a tool for sustainable and inclusive development, and its value is measured by the tangible benefits experienced by citizens – faster and simpler services, without paperwork or visits to counters. That is why the local level is crucial, as it is where digitalization most clearly improves service quality and builds trust between citizens and public administration. Examples such as Veliko Gradište show that every community can make significant progress when digital tools are applied effectively,” emphasized Slobodan Marković, Digital Technologies Advisor at UNDP.

“The goal of the Municipality of Veliko Gradište is to bring electronic services closer to citizens, so they can be used more widely, saving users both time and costs. In this context, I invite all interested citizens to contact employees of the Municipal Administration, today and in the coming period, to ask any questions they may have about the services available on the eGovernment Portal, and to open their eID accounts, which will enable them to use all available eServices from their homes, without paperwork or unnecessary visits to counters,” said Dragan Milić, President of the Municipality of Veliko Gradište.

eGovernment Day was jointly launched by the Office for IT and eGovernment, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NALED, Digital District, and the World Bank, with the goal of making eGovernment accessible to everyone, regardless of the size and capacities of local self-government units.

eGovernment Day for All represents a unique opportunity for local governments to improve their services, optimize processes, and become recognized leaders of digital transformation, for the benefit of citizens and the economy.
