At the constitutive session of the new conference, Vladislav Cvetković, the Advisory Services Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers, was elected the new President of NALED Managing Board.
The positions of vice presidents, for the following four years, will be performed by Stanka Pejanović, the executive vice president of Hisense Gorenje Europe, as the representative of businesses, Nikola Dašić, the mayor of Kragujevac from local government and Tijana Gajić, director of the Pexim Foundation, as a representative of the civil sector.
- I would like to thank the members and colleagues in the Managing Board for the trust they have placed in me, by electing me the President of NALED, and giving me an opportunity to represent more than 300 dedicated members from business, academia, public and civil sector, in their initiatives for better business environment in Serbia. The Managing Board, headed by me, will remain committed to building trust and dialogue, which is needed for harmonized reform solutions in the best interest of our society - said Vladislav Cvetković, the newly elected President of the Board of NALED.
Cvetković has a lot of experience in the area of financial advice, banking system reform and denationalization. In the second half of the 1990s, he worked for Deloitte, and after the transition started, he was engaged in the National Bank of Serbia and the Deposit Insurance Agency, as an advisor to the governor, leading advisor for bank privatization and a member of the NBS Council. He was, also, the director of the Privatization Agency and, among other things, managed the project of the largest privatization in Serbia (Telenor's acquisition of the Mobi63 operator). He taught at the Department of Business Finance and Accounting, at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
At the recently held 8th Electoral Assembly, NALED members decided that Igor Vukašinović (Director of Apatin Brewery), Svetoslav Atanasov (General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia) and Goran Kovačević (General Manager of Gomex) from businesses, will also participate in the work of the new Board, as well as representatives of local governments - Goran Cvetanović, Mayor of Leskovac and Nikola Vučen, Mayor of Smederevska Palanka.
The main goal of the new Management Board will be to lead the organization in strategic direction and to implement the reform priorities chosen by NALEDs members for the period from 2021 until 2025. The NALED community gave the most votes to reforms in the field of environmental protection (average score 4.6), development of eGovernment, suppression of the gray economy and improvement of the health care system (score 4.4). The Members saw strengthening competitiveness and support for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (score 4.3), improving the tax system (4.2), modernizing municipal services and improving property issues and conditions for construction (4.1) as the priority
Violeta Jovanović, NALED Executive Director, thanked the members of the new Managing Board for their willingness to voluntarily engage in this responsible role, and try to surpass the result of the previous assembly, in whom mandate the organization carried out 300 activities, and realized more than 30 projects.
- Serbia's entry into the Top 50 countries on the Doing Business list, 30 resolved recommendations acknowledged in the Gray Book for reducing bureaucracy, introduction of about 50,000 seasonal workers in legal flows, predictable business conditions for more than 100,000 entrepreneurs, more than 300,000 positively resolved construction requests and one million submitted requests for registration in the cadastre through eŠalter system are only a part of the results we achieved in the mandate of the previous Management Board and we will try to surpass them in the following four years - added Jovanović.
