Training Cycle on Smart Cities Completed

As more and more local governments adopt innovative and smart solutions, training sessions in the field of smart cities were held in September and October, marking the completion of a new cycle of training at the Yandex company’s premises. More than 50 department heads and officials from 27 local government units attended the training, showing particular interest in the application of smart solutions and their legal regulation.

Participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with international smart solutions from Yandex, including the Yandex Maps and Yandex Weather applications, which were presented by experts from the company. Domestic solutions were presented by Branko Krsmanović from City&Me, Ivan Kočev from BusLogic, and Mladen Bašić from RedTech. The second part of the training focused on presenting the analysis of the regulatory framework for the application of smart city concepts in Serbia and a working version of regulations and guidelines that could potentially regulate this field.

Ana Milovanović, the regulatory reform manager at NALED, addressed the participants, emphasizing that the goal of this new cycle of training is for local government units to gain insight into the regulations and smart solutions they can apply in their communities, contributing to modernization and improvement of service quality at the local level.

As a reminder, last year, a cycle of training on smart cities was held, with 37 participants from 22 cities and municipalities.

The training was conducted as part of the "Smart Growth Initiative" project, with the support of Yandex.
