PMInnovia – Open Innovation Project in Serbia

Project Area: Open Innovation

Donnor: Philip Morris International

Partners: Scientific Community

Implementation Period: November 2023 – November 2024

PMInnovia is a pilot initiative by Philip Morris International (PMI), implemented by NALED, aimed at promoting the introduction of open innovation concepts in Serbia. The project provides support to scientists and innovators for developing ideas and research projects that can be utilized by PMI and other companies to enhance and innovate their products.

This initiative will facilitate new ways to fund research and enable scientists to bring their innovations to users. PMI envisions Serbia becoming a regional hub and internationally recognized center for open innovation and collaboration between science and industry.

As part of the project, a call for proposals will be open to research teams and innovators from Serbia with innovative ideas to address specific challenges identified by PMI. The call will be published on www.pminnovia.org.

In addition to financial support, selected teams will receive mentoring from experts from academia and industry to further refine their ideas. Best innovators will also have the opportunity to visit PMI’s research and development center – The Cube in Neuchatel, Switzerland, and witness first-hand how innovations are developed within a large corporation and gain insight into applying best practices to further develop Serbia’s innovation ecosystem.

Leading teams will have the chance to commercialize their solutions and collaborate with Philip Morris.
