Representatives of NALED with Minister Matić: New projects in the field of tourism and electronic business

The Executive Director of NALED, Violeta Jovanović, met today with the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matić, and the Executive Director of the Post office of Serbia, Nebojsa Markovic, to discuss projects in the field of tourism and electronic business. On this occasion, Matic announced the formation of the Council for Development and Recovery of Tourism, emphasizing that the focus of the work of this body will be sustainable development, local travel agencies and trends in this area, with the accent on the importance of tourism for overall economic development.

She added that the goal of the Ministry is to implement program activities and bring results on the field, especially in light of the pandemic circumstances that provide an opportunity for developmental changes. The analysis of craft activities was also discussed at the meeting, as well as the importance of the implementation of the Law on Electronic Document, Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions.

On this occasion, the solution for issuing qualified electronic certificates for signature to foreign citizens, but also to domestic citizens abroad, who are not able to come to Serbia or use available electronic services, was discussed. Since in practice, certificates are currently issued to foreign citizens based on passports or ID cards, it was stated that it is necessary to introduce new models based on the adopted amendments to the law, which, among other things, provides for the introduction of remote identification.

Also, Matic proposed that the Ministry, NALED, Eco Network and the Tourist Organization of Serbia launch a project of the Tourist Gallery, using the available capacity of the space that would have an exhibition function, but also the function of shops, workshops, space for education and events that could be promoted in the branches of PC Post office, it is stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
