We are deeply struck with the news of departure of one us, a dear collleague and friend. Darko was born in 1965 in Banja Luka. Three years later he moved to Skopje, to the new branch of Marc Rich, that changes name to Glencore International AG, becoming the world's largest company trading in oil, grains and metal. He established the company Contango, also serving as its Director, in 2003. The following year, Contango bought the state-owned mine AD Rudnik i Flotacija Rudnik, the purhcase being one of the most successful privatization cases in Serbia. Darko joined NALED in 2013 as the President of Executive Board, and after his presidential term he remained a member of this managing body.

He supported the miners with all of his heart, being dedicated to the community wellfare. We will remember him by his smile and hospitality, and a sense of art we feel in his music. We are thankful for everything we did together and sad for this immense loss.
