In the last few years, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Office for information technologies and eGovernment (OiTEG) have been conducting intensive activities for the improvement and digitization of public administration. However, a survey conducted by NALED in 2022 showed that most local self-government units (LGUs) are lagging behind this process due to a lack of professional staff, inadequate infrastructure and limited financial resources. 

In accordance with the identified challenges, OiTEG and NALED launched a project called "eGovernment for all", with the support of UNDP. The project aims to provide professional and technical support to local governments in the process of digital transformation, through field visits and strengthening of digital infrastructure. 

The main goal of the project is to raise the level of digital transformation and maturity of local governments to achieve a more balanced digital development across the country.  

Objectives and Results  

Key project activities include:  

• Assessment of the current state of digital services and infrastructure in local governments; 

• Organization of online info sessions to present the project and the public call to local governments;  

• Organization of training for trainers; 

• Selection of 10 local governments for participation in the project; 

• Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize cooperation with selected local governments, along with the organization of a kick-off event;  

• Organization of field visits to 10 selected local governments to provide mentoring, training and technical support; 

• Support in creating promotional materials and presenting the project and its activities in the media and on social networks; 

• Participation in info days for citizens in 10 selected local governments; 

• Organization of the final conference.
