Implementation Period: Jul 2025 – Decembar 2025.
In the last few years, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Office for information technologies and eGovernment (OiTEG) have been conducting intensive activities for the improvement and digitization of public administration. However, a survey conducted by NALED in 2022 showed that most local self-government units (LGUs) are lagging behind this process due to a lack of professional staff, inadequate infrastructure and limited financial resources.
In accordance with the identified challenges, OiTEG and NALED launched a project called "Champions of Digital Transformation", with the support of UNDP. The project aims to provide professional and technical support to local governments in the process of digital transformation, through field visits and strengthening of digital infrastructure.
The main goal of the project is to raise the level of digital transformation and maturity of local governments to achieve a more balanced digital development across the country.
