Aligning public policies and services with European Union standards, potential opportunities for institutional cooperation, as well as strengthening digitalization and the further development of artificial intelligence in Serbia, were the key topics discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić and NALED Executive Director Violeta Jovanović.
“A great and useful discussion with the Executive Director of NALED on potential opportunities for institutional cooperation in presenting Serbia’s economic and business environment, improving public policies and services in line with European Union standards, as well as supporting the further development of digitalization and artificial intelligence in our country,” said Đurić.
Taking into account Violeta Jovanović’s role as President of Ethno Network, the umbrella association of handicraft producers from across Serbia, the discussion also covered topics related to enhancing the promotion of Serbia’s cultural heritage and creativity abroad, as well as opportunities for stronger engagement of diplomatic and consular missions with initiatives that support traditional crafts and women’s entrepreneurship.
“Over the past two decades since the establishment of Ethno Network, significant progress has been made in the preservation of cultural heritage and the economic empowerment of women, by creating opportunities for traditional crafts to become a sustainable source of income and a form of women’s entrepreneurship, particularly in local communities,” Jovanović stated.
