The development of regenerative agriculture, the digitalization of the incentive system and the use of artificial intelligence in the service of agriculture will be the key activities on which NALED and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management will work together in the coming period, it was concluded at the meeting of representatives of NALED with relevant minister Dragan Glamočić.
The conversation was aimed at defining common steps towards the modernization of the sector and supporting the transition to more sustainable models of agriculture, including the education of producers, certification of regenerative products and improvement of agro-ecological measures.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management prof. Dr. Dragan Glamočić pointed out that Serbia is ready to support the transformation towards a more sustainable model of agriculture, in which not only more will be produced, but also better, while preserving natural resources.
- Regenerative agriculture represents one of the key directions of development in the coming period. It is more than an agrotechnical practice – it is a vision that combines soil protection, yield increase and market recognition. We will support all efforts aimed at its application in practice and recognition within support policies - said the minister.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the improvement of the digital infrastructure in agriculture, through the development of new functionalities within eAgrar, the establishment of an integrated administrative and control system (IACS) and the introduction of tools based on artificial intelligence, such as digital assistants and chatbog guides for users of incentives.
The executive director of NALED, Violeta Jovanović, emphasized that it is essential to connect knowledge, practice and digital solutions in order to better manage and support producers.
- Modern agriculture is looking for smart systems. The solutions we develop together with the Ministry aim to simplify procedures, reduce the administrative burden and increase the efficiency of the system. We see a special potential in the expansion of regenerative agriculture and the use of artificial intelligence in the service of farmers - said Jovanović.
On this occasion, the following steps were agreed in the field of IPARD measures, education of local governments and joint initiatives aimed at empowering domestic producers.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Alliance for Food and Agriculture, a key working body in NALED that has 60 members, gathered with the aim of providing support for the establishment of a stable business environment in the food and agriculture sector.
