NALED's participation in the Balkan Forum in Thessaloniki

NALED is participating in the second Balkan Forum, to be held on September 25th and 26th, in Thessaloniki, organized by the Greek Ministry of Interior and the Managing Authority of the EU Territorial Cooperation Program.

The forum brings together representatives of the economy, business associations, chambers of commerce, banks, research centers and civil society organizations etc. from Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Serbia, Albania, Northern Macedonia, as well as senior officials from ministries of the mentioned countries and the European Commission.

The theme of this year's conference is "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" with a focus on exploring the possibilities of developing business and technological networking and synergies in order to make the best use of existing potential at the Balkan level.

NALED viewed these topics from the perspective of the regional territorial cooperation, which is the Forum’s main idea, presenting the Regional Network for Improving the Business Environment in Southeast Europe and its importance for further improving competitiveness in the region by establishing a stable and predictable business environment for investors who wish to move or expand its business in Southeast Europe. Priorities for further development of the Network through the expansion of the type and scope of activities it covers, as well as the territory it covers, were also highlighted.

On this occasion, NALED presented two cross-border clusters - one in the paper industry, the other in the agricultural sector, which were recently established in Serbia and Croatia with EU financial support, provided through the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program Croatia-Serbia 2014-2020.
