Members of NALED's E-Government Alliance elected its new presidency at the election session held on 5 September.

Over the next two years the Alliance will be led by the new president, Željko Tomić, Director of OSA Computer Engineering, and vice presidents, Aleksandar Blagojević, Digital Branch & Support Manager of Societe Generale Bank, Milan Simić, Executive Director for IT support and ICT services of Telecom Serbia and Jelena Topalović Petrović, Assistant Mayor of Šabac for citizen engagement.

"The composition of the new presidency promises continuity and will allow us to go beyond the high ladder that has been set up by the previous presidency led by Nataša Sekulić, CEO of IBM. We will strive to maintain the trend of good results, "said Željko Tomić.

Establishing online payments on the eGovernment portal, adopting 12 by-laws to the Law on e-Business, establishing Government’s Coordination Council for eGovernment as well as a project to support local governments in strengthening information security were some of the results presented at this meeting as part of the Annual report analyzing the work of the Alliance.

The Alliance Coordinator, Dragana Ilić, also announced the future activities. "We are currently in the preparatory stage for establishing a contact center for eGovernment issues to support a wide group of civil servants on how to implement the Law on eGovernment, eBusiness, the Law on Information Security, and in addition to this contact center there will also be relevant trainings for civil servants."

The eGovernment Alliance was established in July 2016 by 20 companies from the ICT sector and currently has 50 members. Between July 2017 and September 2018, 16 new members joined the Alliance, including nine local governments, which also influenced the Alliance's new quality and direction.

The Alliance goal is to improve the regulatory framework for the development of e-government and e-business, reduce costs and administration for businesses and citizens by establishing e-services, building the institutional capacities and improving the business processes of public administration, as well as improving the efficiency and transparency of its work. The Alliance is involved in developing and monitoring the implementation of the Government's e-Government Action Plan.
