[RTS] Why NALED's Grey Book is called the "Reform Bible"

Within its annual conference on economic reforms, NALED will present the "Grey Book 2021." One hundred recommendations for better business conditions, reform priorities and measures to support the economy in the conditions of a pandemic, will be discussed with experts from the Government of Serbia and the international community.

Jelena Bojovic, Policy Director, reminds that the "Grey Book" was launched in 2008, now being NALED's legacy, often called the "reform bible" in the Parliament.

"The Grey Book is important because we started with the idea that entrepreneurs, businessmen, citizens could define problems in doing business and the economy of Serbia and give some solutions. So, the “Grey Book” is a set of problems that businesses are facing", Bojovic pointed out for the morning program.

She highlighted that the largest number of recommendations refers to the Ministry of Finance, but also, that the largest number of recommendations from that sector has been resolved. She also adds that the resolved Grey Book recommendations include the issues of healthcare booklets, reduction of the number of payment accounts for salary taxes and contributions from 12 to one , and others.

As she points out, this was one of the biggest successes at the beginning of the "Grey Book". She adds that 268 recommendations have already been published, half of which have been resolved.
