Electronic Services Becoming More Accessible to the Citizens of Ćuprija

eGovernment Day was held today in the Municipality of Ćuprija as part of the project “eGovernment for All”, with the aim of bringing the opportunities and benefits of using electronic services closer to citizens.

Assistant Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Biljana Marić, and the President of the Municipality of Ćuprija, Jelena Đulinac, together with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NALED, and the Digital District, visited the eGovernment promotional stand and spoke with citizens.

Marić highlighted that the Municipality of Ćuprija is achieving notable results in the implementation of electronic services, enabling citizens to complete administrative tasks more easily and efficiently.

“Ćuprija successfully uses the eID, eInbox, eRegistry Office, and eZUP systems. So far, more than 41,000 data exchanges have been completed through eZUP, while 26,965 cases have been processed through the eRegistry Office, demonstrating that digital processes are becoming an integral part of the municipality’s daily work. The municipality is actively working on implementing the ePay service and improving electronic payments, including securing an additional POS terminal. Another major step forward is the implementation of the cloud-based eSeal, where all key procedures have been completed and the full implementation of this solution will follow. In the coming period, we will continue to work together to improve electronic services, increase the number of eCitizens, and bring eGovernment closer to the citizens of Ćuprija so that more tasks can be completed electronically and without paper,” Marić emphasized.

“Through the ‘eGovernment for All’ project, we are working to improve digital services and modernize public administration in order to provide citizens and businesses with faster, simpler, and more transparent access to administrative procedures. The Municipality of Ćuprija is a good example of a local government that actively participates in this process and recognizes the importance of digitalization for improving services and supporting local economic development,” said Ilija Gavrilović, Regulatory Reform Specialist at NALED.

He added that it is particularly important that Ćuprija has had an active Economic Council for years, which represents an important mechanism for dialogue between the local government and the business community.

“During today’s visit to Ćuprija, in discussions with the President of the Municipality and her team, we had the opportunity to see which electronic public services are being used in this local government and what the plans are for the coming period. Electronic public services improve efficiency, save time and money, and are important for both citizens and businesses. UNDP, in cooperation with the Office for IT and eGovernment and NALED, will continue to support the Municipality of Ćuprija and other local governments so that we can bring the benefits of eServices closer to citizens,” said Sanja Arizanović, Project Manager at UNDP.

“Today we are not only talking about technology, but about a new face of our Ćuprija. By joining the ‘eGovernment for All’ project, we are not only changing software, we are changing the way the municipality serves its people. We want every parent in Ćuprija to enroll their child in kindergarten from the comfort of their home, every entrepreneur to obtain permits without waiting, and our administration to become an efficient service that saves time. Digitalization is not a privilege of large cities; it is the right of every citizen of Ćuprija to receive fast and modern services. I invite all citizens of the Municipality of Ćuprija to become eCitizens, take advantage of the benefits this project brings, and together build a modern, digital Ćuprija,” said the President of the Municipality of Ćuprija, Jelena Ćulinac.

eGovernment Day was jointly launched by the Office for IT and eGovernment, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NALED, the Digital District, and the World Bank, with the goal of making electronic government accessible to everyone, regardless of the size and capacities of local governments.

eGovernment Day for All represents a unique opportunity for local governments to improve their services, optimize processes, and become recognized drivers of digital transformation, for the benefit of citizens and businesses.
